About.

Shelley Musker Turner is a harpist who specialises in traditional Celtic folk music from Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Born and raised in the hills of Ceredigion, she lived in Spain, Austria and London before returning to Wales to live in Cardiff, where she is currently based.

Shelley started playing the harp at the age of seven, and was lucky enough to be taught by professional folk harpist, Harriet Earis. Although she was trained classically, Harriet naturally passed on her love of traditional folk music, and has had a lasting influence on Shelley’s style and musical ambitions.

In 2019, Shelley joined the internationally renowned Welsh folk band Calan, and has since played gigs across the UK and Europe. Particular highlights of her career so far include performing for a feature on Telynau Teifi on the BBC programme Flog it! in 2007, winning the Grúpaí Ceoil category at the All-Britain Fleadh with the West London Folk Group in 2016, and taking part in Calan’s recent performance with Catrin Finch and the Brittany Symphony Orchestra in Rennes.

Shelley offers a range of services such as light music for weddings, functions and events, as well as gigs and beginner lessons. If you would like to book Shelley for your event, please send any enquiries via the 'contact' page.
